Edgar Cayce spoke about this revitalizing formula in many readings as a formula that “would be good for everyone as a spring tonic.” It’s specific use in many readings was to increase eliminations and cleanse the body of accumulated toxins.
The old-fashioned phrase “spring tonic” refers to a remedy or revitalizing blend traditionally taken in the spring to restore health and vitality after the long, sluggish winter months. After a winter diet of preserved or heavy foods, a spring tonic was believed to help “cleanse the blood” or jump-start the metabolism. These tonics were often made from medicinal herbs believed to have detoxifying or health-boosting properties.
Herbal Tonic 545 draws from that tradition—it’s designed to support the body throughout all seasons, especially during times of seasonal transition. As the foods available shift with each season—from lighter fare in spring and summer to richer, heartier meals in fall and winter—this tonic helps the body adapt by supporting healthy digestion, elimination, and internal balance.
Whether taken in spring or fall, a seasonal tonic also symbolized a mental or emotional pick-me-up—tied to the shifting light, changing energy, and the deep instinct to reset as the seasons turn.
Edgar Cayce’s Breakdown of New Seasons Ingredients:
The ingredients were given with information on each herb that may provide insight into how the formula works:
“The active principle from the wild cherry bark with the other ingredients is a stimulation to the lungs, throat and bronchials, and those organs above the diaphragm.” (Cayce)
“The … wild cherry bark, is a direct activative force upon the pneumogastrics and the pulmonary system.” (Cayce)
“The sarsaparilla works with the gastric juices of the stomach, and the eliminations in the peristaltic movement through the intestinal tract.” (Cayce)
“The yellow dock root is an emit and blood purifier, an active principle with the secretions of the liver.” (Cayce)
“The prickly ash bark acts directly with the activative forces in the liver itself, in the gall duct, and as a stimulant to the pancreas and spleen’s activity.” (Cayce)

How long does it last?
Hi Manya,
A single 8 oz bottle should last for 24 days, if you’re following the suggested use, which is 1/2 teaspoon before each meal as well as a 1/2 teaspoon before bed. It’s not recommended to use this formula for more than 2 or 3 weeks in a row without taking a break.
