Castor oil … again comes into the spotlight, along with Camphorated oil. Harvey Rose, a GP from Sacramento, California, sent us the following report:
“With regards to the skin … a man about 68 years old had a mean-looking lesion on his ear which was probably an early squamous cell carcinoma; biopsy was not done. This lesion had been present for years. The patient has had basal cell carcinoma removed from the area of the left ear somewhat near this particular lesion. At any rate, after two weeks of the castor oil and camphorated oil, the lesion disappeared and has not recurred. The treatment was started in December of 1969.
“Another patient, a woman of 61, had a lesion inside her ear in the external auditory meatus, which was rough and scaly, and she used the castor oil-camphorated oil. The lesion disappeared and has maintained its absence after about three weeks of treatment. No recurrence since April 22. This lesion had been bleeding a bit, and this I think makes the result with the oil combination even more dramatic.”

Hello Sherry,
Unfortunately, Camphorated Oil was taken off the US market in the 80’s, but a good substitute would be either Scar-Ban or Body Vitale. Simply add 1-2 oz of Castor Oil to 8 oz of either the Scar-Ban or Body Vitale.

Is Camphor Oil the same as Camphorated Oil? eg. https://www.awo.com.au/camphor-white-essential-oil/?sku=C0057-3-100ML&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwvvmzBhA2EiwAtHVrb4GKPYr2SfRibStLJYi5AKSsaxCOZV_n4vLLOiL0Irg6mYPxNIJSVhoChOwQAvD_BwE

True “Camphorated Oil” is no longer sold in the US as a standalone product. What is touted as Camphor Essential Oil is of a much, much lower concentration of actual camphor. Some products might not even contain real, plant-based camphor, but rather a petroleum-derived artificial camphor.
